Rock climbers carry out restoration work, maintenance and monitoring, abseiling safely and positioning themselves by the sole use of ropes without the use of scaffolding, baskets or other equipment which in some cases are impossible to employ or particularly onerous.
The work is carried out by personnel who are highly specialised and trained specifically to carry out these particular and delicate operations:
the basic skills of restoration are combined with specific training in rock climbing techniques, which allows them to carry out the various phases of work in specific conditions.
The pictures show some monitoring and maintenance work completed at the Arengo Tower in the Palazzo del Podestà-Re Enzo, the Clock Tower at the Palazzo d’Accursio, at the Rocca di Porta Galliera, and at the Sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin of San Luca.
