On completion of the stratigraphic analyses of the materials conducted on site, Leonardo carries out studies of an archival-bibliographic nature and obtains information on the architectural development of the building on which the works are to be carried out, information that can be correlated to the data drawn from the on-site analyses, and by so doing supplying a detailed picture of the historical-architectural evolution which the building has undergone.
This type of study also allows them to track vital information on the maintenance and restoration of the building over the course of time, determining the materials and the techniques adopted in the ambit of such interventions and, in this way, obtaining essential data for the planning of an effective and intelligent intervention, which will be capable of becoming a true and proper “restoration of the restoration”.
