Stratigraphical analysis of the masonry and plastering

A fundamental aspect in the journey that leads to the effective and respectful intervention of restoration is a deep awareness of the historical and architectural life that the building has lived or the make-up of that which is about to have work done on it, with the objective of identifying the materials and the construction techniques that have characterised the various phases of building and modification.
Leonardo has the ability to carry out analyses on the functionality of the building and to define its stratigraphic evolution, whether in relation to the layers of cladding and finish that have characterised the surfaces of the building over time, or to the structural build which can be associated with the various phases of architectural transformation, identifying the chronology of the different periods of manufacturing which make up the structure as a whole, noting the materials and technical execution of the work.
This method of investigation allows us to determine the historical-stratigraphic sequence beginning with a single point of reference and moving on to defining the stratigraphic sequence of events of an entire building, all the way to defining the colour plan and urban layout of the historical centre of a city.
